How does manufacturing do in regards to getting the best yields.

Materials yields have such a huge impact on all areas when you really break it down and actually quantify the true costs. We have three main components -- cores, veneers and finishing materials -- that make up 80 percent of our materials. 

Core/Particle Board Material  -  Our products are designed to gain maximum yield. We nest when it makes sense, but we also combine it with using many drops. We are able to yield 91 percent of all core purchased.

Veneers  -  Industry yield averages for veneers logs is between 20 - 30 percent. Novodai achieves a 89-percent yield rate for all veneer logs. We have a veneer operation that is second to none. Let's break it down to actual, real life, hard facts and no theory. For every 100 trees that we purchase, we dispose 11 of them into the landfills. Our competitors scrap approximately 75 trees for every 100 that they purchase, and these logs go directly into the land fills. Add on top of that the cost to transport the logs, material handling and more.

Finish Materials  -  All finish application equipment to seal and lacquer our products is airless. We have very little over-spray that goes into our filters, and 93 percent actually goes onto the product. What's more, we do not use a two-part system that makes finish material obsolete after eight hours and needs to be disposed. Our equipment is the most effiicent systems on the market and maintained to consistently achieve optimum performance.
